Stranger Sings the musical

STRANGER SINGS! THE PARODY MUSICAL is a hilarious ‘upside down’ take on the hit Netflix series – and all its campy 1980s glory.

Join Mike, Eleven, Lucas, Dustin, and the whole Hawkins gang for a night of adventure, thrills, pubescent angst, heavy synth, poor parenting, convoluted love triangles, cheap effects, dancing monsters, and maybe, just maybe… justice for everyone’s favorite missing ginger, Barb Holland.

The ’80s are back! Stranger Sings, the musical parody show based on Netflix’s Stranger Things, is back to turn New York upside down for a second time. Get Stranger Sings: The Parody Musical tickets on TodayTix.

Stranger Sings is a musical featuring all your favorite Stranger Things characters: Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will, Hopper, Joyce, and more. Plus plenty of singing monsters. The show’s high-stakes adventures — in which the teenagers of Hawkins, Indiana battle interdimensional creatures from the Upside Down to save their town and the world — are lovingly spoofed on stage in this show. If you think there’s a lot of big hair, ’80s music hits, and parental un-supervision in the TV show, Stranger Sings plays all that up to the max (no pun intended).

Jonathan Hogue, who wrote the book, music, and lyrics for Stranger Sings off Broadway, made his New York debut as a writer with the show. The musical was first presented as a one-night concert at Feinstein’s/54 Below in 2018, about a year after the second Stranger Things season came out. Its first full production took place in 2021 at The Players Theatre, and now, on the heels of Stranger Things‘s buzzy fourth season, the musical parody is back.

The 2021 production won seven BroadwayWorld Off-Broadway Awards including Best New Musical, and after Stranger Sings wraps in New York this year, the show will go up in Melbourne and London.
